Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 10 years of accounting experience, including 7 working in public accounting. Extensive experience directing and leading teams of up to 25 employees responsible for completing client engagement audits of accounting, finance, tax, and compliance data, and making recommendations for process improvements. Well-developed skills performing financial modeling and forecasting for clients and reviewing all aspects of balance sheet accounts including cash and investments, accounts receivable, capital expenditures, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, long-term debt, and equity/net assets. Work Experience

2021-2024

VP of Accounting, Controller

PE-backed pediatric dental, vision and ortho management organization

- Entered the organization in a time of financial doubt and drove impactful change.
- Created weekly cash forecast, based on historical actuals, resulting in a negative cash position at year end.
Analyzed closely with FP&A to present cost saving efforts and production goals for operations leading to a
positive cash forecast.
- Oversaw the transition of accounting software from Great Plains to Sage Intacct.
- Implemented accounts payable automation utilizing MineralTree which decreased manual efforts, payment
lag, vendor inquiries and reduced costs by 1+ FTE.
- Transitioned corporate card platform to Bill.com, which provided the organization with up to a 2% cash back
rebate generating additional cash flow to aid in future business endeavors.
- Decreased annual financial audit schedule to meet debt covenants, with no adjustments to revenue. Prior
audit resulted in a $2.2M revenue adjustment and was issued late requiring a debt covenant waiver.
- Applied a standard month end close schedule reducing reporting timeline from 30 to 10 days.
- As a result of timely reporting, gained financial confidence from leadership which garnered less scrutiny,
increasing the capacity of the C-Suite to further improve performance.
- Revamped monthly bonus calculations which provided transparency and improved relations with providers.
- Manage Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll departments which include 10 team members.
- Worked closely with FP&A and outside consultants to create an electronic data warehouse, which centralized
electronic health records from five disparate systems.

2020-2021

Assistant Controller

PE-backed eye care physician management organization

- Partner with the Controller to oversee the company’s finance and accounting functions including: month-end
close, consolidations, and financial reporting.
- Train, lead, and develop a team of 6 staff accountants.
- Manage the month-end close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, P&L analysis, and
general ledger maintenance.
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial reporting, including monthly management reporting and
lender reporting packages.
- Perform analytical reviews and P&L analysis to provide meaningful insights on operating performance.
- Partner with FP&A and clinical operations to provide analytical insights into operational performance.
- Ensure timely preparation and review of all balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis according to
standard close process.
- Assist in mergers and acquisitions.

Healthcare Engagement Director, Audit

Public accounting firm that provides traditional audit, tax, and consulting services.

- Direct and lead teams of up to 25 employees responsible for completing client engagement audits of
accounting, finance, tax, and compliance data, with an emphasis on healthcare clients and specifically
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
- Conduct and manage the review of client balance sheet accounts including cash and investments, accounts
receivable, capital expenditures, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, long-term debt, and equity/net assets.
- Perform revenue cycle consulting from inception through final payment. Gather data from front desk through
physicians’ care, billing and coding, and remittance. Identify process improvement opportunities and make
presentations to client senior leadership.
- Perform financial modeling and forecasting for clients for potential purchases, mergers, and capital projects.
- Track the team’s progress, ensure projects meet deadlines, and provide meaningful feedback to clients
regarding the accuracy and completeness of the data.
- Draft financial statements including footnote disclosures and prepare final presentations to present to
management and the Board of Directors.
- Conduct final billing preparation by reviewing Work in Progress, determining audit status, and billing
accordingly.
- Prepare and review proposals for new potential work, which includes firm data and highlighting the process
and accomplishments of the team. Conduct phone interviews and present proposals.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Team to inquire about unusual transactions/situations and to obtain
guidance on the implementation of new standards.
- Provide career coaching and guide staff through available opportunities at the organization and connect with
teams across. the nation to provide constructive feedback to enhance their careers.
